Abstract.

Starting from the geodesic flow on finite dimensional Euclidean ellipsoids, for which we will recall the classical constructions of complete sets of first integrals and describe their singularities and dynamical complexity, we will examine the possibility of extensions to the infinite dimensional case. This could possibly make a bridge between integrability in the finite dimensional Hamiltonian case and that of Hamiltonian PDEs.
