One Ph.D. Position at the University of Frankfurt

The LOEWE research unit ‘Uniformized structures in arithmetic and geometry’, located at the Departments of Mathematics of the Technical University Darmstadt and Goethe University Frankfurt, welcomes applications for the position of a

Ph.D. student

(E13 TV-GU, 75% part time)

for three years with a starting date of January 1st, 2019.

The successful candidate will work on her/his thesis under the guidance of Martin Ulirsch on a topic broadly related to the project “Tropical and enumerative geometry of moduli spaces”.

Candidates must have completed a degree (Diploma or Master’s) in mathematics and have some background in arithmetic and/or algebraic geometry. Although not required, prior experience with tropical geometry, toric geometry, non- Archimedean geometry or moduli spaces, will be a plus.
