Dear colleagues, with this message I would like to announce that the Department of Mathematics of VU University Amsterdam welcomes applications for the position of a

PHD STUDENT ON THE SUBJECT "INFINITE-DIMENSIONAL SYMPLECTIC GEOMETRY" The tentative goal of the PhD project is to generalize the ground-breaking pseudoholomorphic curve methods from finite-dimensional symplectic geometry to the infinite-dimensional setting in order to prove new fundamental results in Hamiltonian field theory. The deadline for applications is October 31, 2018 and the desired starting date is April 1, 2019. Further information about the job opening can be found under the following link:

https://www.math.vu.nl/en/about-the-department/vacancies/index.aspx This position is financed by a TOP2 grant that NWO has recently awarded to me. I would be very grateful if you could forward this job opening to all of your master students who might be interested. Thank you very much and with best regards, Oliver Fabert (VU Amsterdam)
