Dear Colleagues,

SISSA (Trieste) welcomes applications for up to 8 PhD Fellowships in Geometry and Mathematical Physics starting in October 2018.

The PhD Course in Geometry and Mathematical Physics at SISSA offers up to 4 years of fully funded training and research. We run joint activities with the International Center for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), the University of Trieste, and the newly established Institute for Geometry and Physics (iGAP) located in the Miramare campus next to ICTP. We cooperate with the Istituto Nazionale di Alta Matematica (INdAM) and the National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN). Research topics include Algebraic geometry, Classical and quantum integrable systems and their applications, Complex differential geometry, Geometry and topology in low dimension, Noncommutative geometry, Random matrices and random geometry, Mathematical aspects of quantum fields and strings, Mathematical methods for quantum mechanics, Number theory, arithmetic geometry and modular forms. More information is available at http://www.math.sissa.it/content/geometry-and-mathematical-physics-0

All activities are held in English. SISSA will provide support to non-Italian PhD students relocating to Trieste (e.g. with finding suitable accommodation).

Applications should be submitted online through the webpage http://www.sissa.it/phd-courses (follow the link " PhD Announcement "). Admissions will be based on a selection of CV
