The purpose of the Beatriz Galindo grants is to attract research talent currently pursuing their professional careers abroad, thereby facilitating the recruitment and training of research personnel and their mobility in sectors of strategic national interest, as well as promoting the quality and competitiveness of teaching and research staff at Spanish universities.
The grants received will be used by Spanish public universities to hire individuals with teaching and research experience abroad for a minimum period of four years. The hiring will be at the level of distinguished professor.
Categories
The Beatriz Galindo grants will be awarded in two categories: senior and junior. Applications must indicate which category the applicant is applying for.
The senior category is intended for hiring individuals with seven or more years of teaching and research experience abroad since obtaining their doctoral degree, and who hold a contractual or similar position abroad at the time of publication of this call for applications in the Official State Gazette (Boletín Oficial del Estado). The minimum annual amount allocated to contracts will be €90,000, of which €25,000 must be contributed by the university (including the employer's social security contribution).
The junior category is for hiring individuals with less than seven years of teaching and research experience abroad since obtaining their doctoral degree and who hold a contractual or similar position abroad on the date of publication of this call for applications in the Official State Gazette. The minimum annual amount allocated to these contracts will be €50,000, of which €15,000 must be contributed by the university (including the employer's social security contribution). One hundred positions are available, with no more than 60 Beatriz Galindo grants being awarded in the junior category and no more than 40 in the senior category.
