SISSA, Scuola Internazionale Superiore di Studi Avanzati in Trieste, invites expressions of interest for a faculty position in mathematics from outstanding scientists with a strong research record in the broad field of geometry, including (but not limited to): algebraic, complex, differential, Riemannian and symplectic geometry; algebraic and geometric topology; geometric representation theory.
The appointment procedure will be activated at the tenure-track level, or at the associate professor level, depending on the candidates’ seniority. The successful candidate is expected to work as an independent principal investigator, promote and lead research activities to complement the current expertise of the SISSA mathematics faculty, attract external funds, contribute to the PhD programme, and supervise graduate students selected through a competitive process and funded by SISSA fellowships.
SISSA offers excellent working conditions, including a start-up grant and reduced teaching load in the first year.
