The Department of Mathematical Sciences of Politecnico di Torino proposes a new PhD programme in Mathematical Sciences, whose nominal duration is three years. The PhD programme encompasses all areas of pure and applied Mathematics, including Statistics and Data Science.
For the 39th cycle of the PhD programme, which is to start on the 1st of November 2023, the following fully funded PhD scholarships are offered: 4 scholarships without a preassigned topic: the successful candidates will work on any topic in pure and applied Mathematics at their choice; scholarships in the frame of PNRR (“Piano Nazionale di Ripresa e Resilienza”): Advanced parallel numerical methods for model driven and data driven large scale complex physical models Distributed control of infrastructure networks Mathematical models for smart devices Modelling and Machine Learning in search of hidden patterns in signal detection; additional scholarships devoted to specific research topics: Advanced numerical methods for wave propagation problems Optimal design of integrated communication and sensing, metasurface-based networks Robust and stochastic optimisation Statistical methods for health monitoring and health care Statistical models for steel wheel design and production Stochastic models of chemical reaction networks and applications.
