Dear all,
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position within the grant “Mirror symmetry on Higgs bundles moduli spaces" (EXPL/MAT-PUR/1162/2021) funded by the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (Portugal).
Information on the call and on the position:
Applicants must hold a Doctoral Degree in Mathematics or in a related field, obtained less than 3 years ago, and have research experience relevant to one of the main research areas of the project: mirror symmetry on the Hitchin system, compactified Jacobians and their subvarieties; branes on the Hitchin system, etc. See https://sites.google.com/view/aoliveira/fct for more information; The contract will be for 1 year (6 months + 6 months) and the expected starting date is between April and July of 2022; The successful candidate will be based at the Centre for Mathematics of the University of Porto (Faculty of Sciences) — https://www.cmup.pt/ — and work under the supervision of one of the members of the project based in Porto: André Oliveira or Peter Gothen; The successful candidate will have funds available to support his/her research; The (tax free) monthly salary will be of 1646 EUR; The contract comes with no teaching duties.
