Research positions at IMPAN (Poland)

created by daniele on 13 Jan 2022

Deadline: 24 jan 2022

{{the content of this page was copy and pasted from the origin announcement email or website; please refer to the links for updates and inquiries}}

Dear Colleagues,

I would like to advertise an open call for several positions at IMPAN (Institute of Mathematics of Polish Academy of Sciences). These are available to all branches of mathematics, including algebraic geometry and come with no teaching obligations (short term positions) or with limited teaching obligations (long term positions). Our (broadly understood) algebraic geometry group is fairly strong, see https://www.impan.pl/en/insitute/structure/departments#galg .

In addition, the institute closely collaborates with Faculty of Mathematics, Computer Science and Mechanics of University of Warsaw (MIMUW, https://www.mimuw.edu.pl/en). In particular, algebraic geometers from IMPAN collaborate with algebraic geometers from MIMUW (some of the members from the University are listed here: http://agvs.mimuw.edu.pl/, but this is a little out of date and incomplete). Long term positions involve a short-term exchange with MIMUW, and the successful candidate has teaching duties for the period at MIMUW.

Deadline for applications: Jan 24th, 2022. List of open calls at IMPAN:

https://www.impan.pl/en/events/competitions

The positions are quite flexible in terms of starting date and also the location (within Poland), as the Institute has its branches in a couple of major cities across the country (currently, all algebraic geometers from IMPAN are in Warsaw and Kraków).

PS. MIMUW will likely open its calls soon, probably they will be advertised here:

https:/www.mimuw.edu.plenopen-positions

Note that these MIMUW positions will involve regular teaching duties, with teaching in English or in Polish.

PPS. I am sorry if you have received this message multiple times.
