The USIAS project "Rational points, rational curves and automorphisms of special varieties" offers a one year post-doc position in arithmetic geometry and-or algebraic geometry at the Institut de Recherche Mathématique Avancée - Université de Strasbourg & CNRS starting from September 2014, under the direction of Carlo Gasbarri and Gianluca Pacienza.
The net salary will be around 2 500 euros per month.
Candidates working in any research direction in arithmetic and-or algebraic geometry are welcome to apply, with preference to the following topics:
- Geometric aspects of transcendence theory and Arakelov geometry;
- Linear systems of projective varieties and classification theories of algebraic varieties;
- Hyperbolicity properties of algebraic varieties;
- Geometric and arithmetic aspects of foliations;
- Hyperkähler manifolds.
Interested candidates should hold a Ph.D. in Mathematics obtained before September 2014.
