Deadline for the application: June 26, 2020 at 12:00 noon (Italian time)
Requisites: Applicants should have a Master Degree or obtain it before October 31, 2020
Number of Ph.D. Scholarships: 14 (6 by Milano Bicocca, 5 by Pavia, 2 by INdAM, 1 by Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore )
Duration of the program: 3 years

Departments:
Department of Pure and Applied Mathematics at the University of Milano Bicocca;
Department of Mathematics “F. Casorati” of the University of Pavia

Six curricula:
1. Algebra and Geometry;
2. Mathematical Analysis;
3. Numerical Analysis and Mathematical Modelling;
4. Mathematical Physics;
5. Probability, Statistics and Mathematical Finance;
6. Mathematics in Life Sciences and Physics (curriculum in agreement with the University of Surrey - UK)

Selection procedure: assessment of qualifications and publications + oral examination (videoconference)

Along with their dossier, candidates have to submit a motivation letter, specifying which of the two participating departments they find most suited to their scientific interests. The candidate’s choice should be scientifically motivated. The motivation letter will be used as a starting point for the interview.
