The Swiss NSF offers two types of prestigious, highly competitive, and generous postdoctoral grants, which can be held by citizens of any country at any Swiss university.
— Ambizione grants are aimed at outstanding postdoctoral researchers who intend to pursue an academic career at a Swiss research institution. The purpose of the Ambizione grant is to enhance researchers' scientific profile and to help them become scientifically independent at an early stage in their career.
— Prima grants are awarded to excellent women researchers who aspire to obtain a professorship position in Switzerland. The funding covers the salary of the applicant and a contribution to research costs for a duration of 3 to 5 years. As such, these funds contribute to the establishment of an independent team to implement a research project.
