The Freiburg Institute for Advanced Studies (=FRIAS) invites applications for fellowships for the academic year 2019/20.
FRIAS Senior Fellowships support internationally outstanding researchers, who would like to visit Freiburg for three months or more. Many visitors split the period into two or more visits.
FRIAS Junior Fellowships are for a 12 month period.
While the program is competitive and open to all fields, there has been a strong tradition of mathematics at FRIAS. The list of alumni with interest in algebraic geometry includes: Bernstein, de Cataldo, Déglise, Eyssidieux, Ivorra, Izadi, McKernan, Nicaise, Păun, Pereira, Riche, Schnell, van der Geer, Xu … and many others. The application deadline is September 15, 2019. Family support has always been of high quality. Despite initial appearance to the contrary, application is neither very time consuming nor very difficult. Please do not hesitate to contact Stefan Kebekus with any of your questions.
