CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2020 ACTIVITIES:

CONFERENCES and RESEARCH IN PAIRS

The CIRM (Centro Internazionale per la Ricerca Matematica, see http://cirm.fbk.eu) located in Trento-Italy, supported and co-funded by Fondazione Bruno Kessler, by the University of Trento and by the Istituto Nazionale di Alta Matematica, wants to promote and to fund in 2020 the following activities in the field of Mathematics Research, in collaboration with European Research Institutes and Universities.

I) Conferences. For the year 2020 CIRM foresees the organization of a series of Conferences and mathematical Meetings. The center has a long tradition in organizing mathematical events started in 1979; this year marks the forty-first anniversary and records more than 320 conferences (http://cirm.fbk.eu/conferences).

Proposals of a conference must be submitted before September 30.th, 2019,

by ordinary mail to the address: Fondazione Bruno Kessler, Centro Internazionale per la Ricerca Matematica, Via Alla Cascata n. 56C – Povo, 38123 Trento, or via electronic mail to the address micheletti(AT)fbk.eu. An application must contain:

a scientific proposal, with names of possible speakers, a rather detailed financial budget, which CIRM will be asked to finance partially (up to 50%), specification of the other available or planned financial resources.

II) For the year 2020 CIRM activities include a program of Research in Pairs, similar to the one of the Mathematisches Forschungsinstitut Oberwolfach, which expects the presence of two or three partners from Universities located in different towns, who intend to work together at CIRM, on a definite research project for a period of time ranging from one to six weeks.

Applications for this program must be sent to the address mentioned above by ordinary or, preferred, by electronic mail. It is suggested to send applications at least three months before the planned stay since decision making might require some time. Applications must contain a brief research proposal, a C.V. and a list of publications for each applicant. For further information please visit the website http://cirm.fbk.eu/research-pairs.

The Advisory Board of CIRM will evaluate all submitted proposals and applications (http://cirm.fbk.eu/organisation ).

The Director of CIRM

Prof. Marco Andreatta
