University of Wisconsin-Madison

Conference on "Stratified spaces in geometric and computational topology and physics", to be held at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, during March 30 - April 2, 2015.

The main topics of the conference are:
a) Codimension two embedding theory (knots and hypersurface singularities)
b) Characteristic classes of singular varieties
c) Singular spaces in mathematical physics
d) Stratified spaces in computation topology

The conference is dedicated to Julius Shaneson's 70th birthday.

More details about the conference (including a partial list of speakers, lodging and travel information, etc.) are available at the url: http://www.math.wisc.edu/~maxim/Sing15.html.

Anyone interested to participate should fill out the registration form at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1QShosvGridwUuY2R0M4KDH7aahGFG4rT4nXvCWAmmac/viewform?c=0&w=1.

An application for NSF funding is in process. Updates will be given at a later time. Priority for funding will be given to students and postdocs without any source of support.
