This is the first announcement for the conference:
ALGEBRAIC GEOMETRY – MARIUSZ KORAS IN MEMORIAM
to be held from May 28th to June 1st, 2018 in Warsaw (Poland).
The aim of the conference is to commemorate the work and life of prof. Mariusz Koras, who passed away unexpectedly in September 2017, and to report on recent progress in complex affine and birational geometry.
MAIN TOPICS INCLUDE:
affine varieties, their automorphisms and group actions on them, linearization problem for reductive group actions on affine spces, logarithmic Kodaira dimension, completions, Koras-Russell threefolds and other exotic affine spaces, relations to A1-homotopy, algebraic surfaces, singularities, fibrations, planar embeddings of curves, rational curves, log uni-ruledness, log minimal model program, Cremona transformations, relations of birational and analytic geometry with affine geometry.
Interested participants are asked to make a preliminary registration as soon as possible using the link below (choose REGISTRATION).
SPEAKERS:
The list of speakers is still in preparation. Participants interested in giving a talk are kindly asked to send a topic proposal as soon as possible to koras-conference@impan.pl. There will be several talks by young participants.
Covering the cost of accommodation for young participants is possible. There is no deadline but earlier applications are more likely to get approval.
