Dear all,

We are happy to announce the 26th edition of GAeL which will take place in the University of Strasbourg (France) from Monday 18th until Friday 22nd of June 2018.

"Géométrie Algébrique en Liberté" is a conference organized by and for researchers in Algebraic Geometry at the beginning of their scientific career. The conference gives PhD students and post-docs the opportunity to lecture, often for the first time, in front of an international audience. In addition, selected international experts deliver mini-courses on topics at the cutting-edge of important new developments in Algebraic Geometry.

The senior speakers will be:

- Paolo Cascini (Imperial College London),
Birational Geometry in any characteristic

- Melody Chan (Brown University),
Algebraic and tropical curves and their moduli

- Ben Moonen (Radboud University Nijmegen),
Mumford-Tate groups and Motivic Galois groups

Accommodation for supported participants will be provided from the 17th June to at most the 23rd June 2018. Without any promise, you can apply for the reimbursements of your travel costs if you are not supported by your university.
