Dear colleagues,

We are very pleased to announce the school and conference

« Modern and Classical Aspects on Algebraic Surfaces »

that will take place in Cracow (Poland) in April 22 - 28, 2018.

Scientific Committee:

-- Thomas Bauer (Marburg University)
-- Sandra Di Rocco (KTH Stockholm)
-- Klaus Hulek (Leibniz Universität Hannover)
-- Rick Miranda (Colorado State University)

There will be three series of five 1-hour lectures:

-- Moduli spaces of algebraic surfaces -- Fabrizio Catanese (Universität Bayreuth)
-- Classical topics on algebraic surfaces -- Ciro Ciliberto (University of Rome Tor Vergata)
-- Bridgeland stability conditions and interpolation problems -- Izzet Coskun (University of Illinois at Chicago)

Furthermore there will be talks by:

-- Ingrid Bauer (Universität Bayreuth),
-- Liana Heuberger (Imperial College London)
-- Roberto Laface (Technische Universität München)
-- Gebhard Martin (Technische Universität München),
-- Xavier Roulleau (Aix-Marseille Université)
-- Mike Roth (Queen's University Kingston Ontario)
-- Alessandra Sarti (Université de Poitiers)
-- Matthias Schuett (Leibniz Universität Hannover)
-- Łukasz Sienkiewicz (University of Warsaw)

There will be also a poster session devoted to the presentation of recent results of all participants willing to share their work.
