VBAC Webinar Announcement - Monday 21 November Hyper-Kähler Manifolds
The next webinar of the international research group VBAC - Vector Bundles over Algebraic Curves, is dedicated to hyper-Kähler manifolds and will take place on Monday, 21st of November 2022, at 15:00 UTC (GMT).
It consists of 2 webinar talks that will take place on Zoom. Advanced registration is required via: http://vbac.wikidot.com [If you have already registered for information on all VBAC webinars, it is not necessary to register again; Zoom ID / password will be sent a few days before the talks]
SCHEDULE (all times are in UTC = GMT):
15:00 - 15:45 Daniel Huybrechts (Bonn): Chow groups of lines on cubic fourfolds
Abstract: I will discuss the Chow group of zero-cycles on the Fano variety of lines in a cubic fourfold from the perspective of certain distinguished surfaces contained in the Fano variety. In particular the surface of lines meeting a fixed line will be discussed in detail. The final aim is to establish an analogue of results of Beauville and Voisin for K3 surfaces. I will give some background on Chow groups, like Bloch-Beilinson filtration and work of Shen-Vial, Voisin and others, and stress the geometry of the situation.
15:45 - 16:00 - Questions and break
16:00 - 16:45 Valeria Bertini (Porto): Singular symplectic varieties as symplectic quotients of hyperkähler manifolds
Abstract: One possible singular analogue of hyperkähler manifolds are irreducible symplectic varieties, mainly arising as moduli spaces of sheaves on trivial canonical surfaces and as partial resolution of symplectic quotients of hyperkähler manifolds. In this talk I will focus on the second class of examples, especially in the case of fourfolds. In order to produce new examples, we will start from the known hyperkähler fourfolds (Hilbert schemes and generalized Kummer) and act on them with natural automorphisms, for which a systematic analysis is possible. This is the content of a work in progress with Armando Capasso, Annalisa Grossi, Mirko Mauri and Enrica Mazzon.
16:45 - 17:00 - Questions and further discussion
The next meeting will take place in January 2023 on Birational Geometry.
