Abstract.
In this talk we aim to describe a way to study G-invariant Riemannian metrics on a homogeneous space GH by looking at different Lie algebra structures (i.e. Lie brackets) on a fixed vector space. After explaining some advantages and disadvantages of this point of view, we will show how it can be applied to the classification problem of non-compact homogeneous Einstein spaces, and more generally to the study of homogeneous Ricci soliton metrics
