Dear colleagues,
We are pleased to officially announce the “Primer Encuentro Colombiano de Geometría y Topología (ECOGyT)” (First Colombian Geometry and Topology Meeting). This event will be held at Universidad Nacional de Colombia, sede Bogotá, from July 22nd to August 2nd 2024.
The first week (July 22-July 27) will consist of a series of introductory mini-courses - on the topics of knot theory, hyperbolic geometry, Lie theory, and algebraic topology - aimed at graduate and advanced undergraduate students, but all are welcomed to attend. All mini-courses during this first week will be in Spanish.
The second week (July 30-August 2) will consist of a research conference featuring plenary and contributed talks in a wide variety of topics in geometry and topology. All talks during this second week will be in English.
We plan to financially support some students and early career researchers. Registration for financial support closes on May 1st, 2024.
This will be the first meeting of what we expect to be a recurrent event organized every two years in a city in Colombia.
